White out

Cannot get enough of daylight savings and endless evenings with my babes. This little series we shot on a Friday night at 7pm after a stormy grey afternoon in Sydney. The clouds all but disappeared and the air was crisp and fresh. The light was so beautiful and soft.  We found a secret little spot just near our home where the waters was still and the girls got to explore and unwind (and then we went and ate some bad ass pizza and gelato for dinner!). A sign of more to come this summer in Sydney. Love.

Black, White, Grey. Yep

Favourite palette. Everyday. Soothing and contemporary. These hues make interior decorating appear cohesively in sync and on point. Always! And its almost a foolproof visual rainbow. Ensure you mix some textures such as linen, wool, felt, canvas and hardwood. Then add some industrial black accents and you are good to go to feel all grown up and ready for your chai latte!

Smells like spring time

And just like that, Sydney has turned on the sunshine and injected a dose of spring weather these last couple of weeks making us oh so excited for longer days, sun-kissed hair and outdoor exploring. There is nothing better than the very first day we can ditch the layers and coats and feel the warmth of the sunshine and smell of the flowers blooming the streets and local parklands.

Yes T’shirt weather has arrived!! (Inserting major happy dancing, clapping and hands in the air emoticons!). The humble tee, the epitome of free spirit easy dressing and comfort. The first of Country Road’s spring collections have arrived in store and they have us sorted for our trans-seasonal wardrobe.

With washed-out almost blue and pastels mixed with playful motifs and prints the collection provides a weightless feel for our springtime leisure.

Dunlin Safari Daybed

If there ever was a daybed ....

The Dunlin Safari Daybed was designed in 1962 by the Danish architect Ole Knudsen Gjerlov. So simple and chic it adds some nordic class to my rancho relaxo space at home softening my monochrome space with solid beech timber and a natural jupe slip.

Here I add some beautiful linen cushions, icelandic throw and side table from www.urbancouture.com.au and before you know it I am immersing myself in magazines and endless cups of tea. My own private slice of heaven in such a busy lifestyle.

Rainbow Bright

Sydney has had one of the coldest winters wet and dreary in over 30 years! We don't cope very well with temperatures under 17 degrees celsius here (#totalwhimps). So with an abundance of grey skies and overcast days we decided to take it upon us to chase urban rainbows in the inner city to brighten up our week. Nothing shines sweeter than a rainbow and my goodness did we find the most perfect one!

Country Road X Curated By

The new season dresses by Country Road has inspired me to shoot a little portraiture series of my little ladies.

I fell in love with the rich colours and tones of the divine navy botanical blossoms against a teal green backdrop as well as the autumn coloured dots scattered on the sweetest gingham check. Which little girl wouldn't want to wear a dress all year round? They are so lovely and lightweight so can be layered up with a coat or down with a cardigan and tights.

It sent my mind into a flurry and so .. a cherry or two later as well as a visit to our local macaroon maker we were ready and set to bring these prints to life! I hope you enjoy them as much as we did making these images!

Safe to say we had a beautiful feast after the shoot.  And are still recovering from our sugar high.

Country Road X Curated By

Autumn hues have always been my favourite. A delicious concoction of warm and earthy tones make their way to our wardrobe this time of year and staple pieces such as denim, chord and wool provide the texture we all crave for with the change of season.

Farmers markets, local parklands and lazy Sundays by the harbor with friends is where you will find us on the weekends during these cooler months catching every inch of sun rays and eating one too many cruffins! Along with a few issues of Vogue and some Vino too of course.

Distilling fashion trends is part of my daily life. When it comes to my girls I do take some reference however what captivates me is versatility. This means investing in some great separates, ensuring there is a practical outerwear option, injecting a colour pop and embracing a statement piece. Breaking it down in these four categories mean you will have yourself covered. The key to the mix and match effortlessly principal is then ‘balance’.

With three young girls in the house there are copious versions of pink scattered all over their wardrobes, sometimes more than otherwise acceptable. However with a splash of mustard and side of navy the otherwise feminine tone is anchored creating a fresh contemporary palette. Adding a statement piece such as this beautiful spot rain jacket adds a dramatic silhouette as well as some fun!

What I also love the most about the current fall collection at Country Road is that all pieces work cohesively together all whilst remaining true to our children’s scintillating charm. Luxury basics with a fashion forward interpretation, yes please.

Printe Bebe X Curated By

Classic dressing provides some nostalgic gravity to our modern lives filled with so much tech, apps and cronuts on the run. All in between viola, dance and netball lessons! Putting on a liberty print piece from Print Bebe takes me back to when life was simpler and I didn't need to 'check in' or 'follow' anyone. Timeless pieces are striking a real chord with me lately as I reminisce of the simple things. Like gorgeous books and cups of tea. Today, we did just that. Top and Dress by www.printebebe.com Skirt by www.lecarrousel.org  Hat by www.littlecreativefactory.com, Shoes by www.efvva.com. Featherdrum X Curated By

Featherdrum is a brand that evokes familiarity.

Becoming acquainted with their signature shapes coupled with a sense of newness in their earthy prints always provide an effortless vibe. The styles are not too busy. They speak a subtle luxe shift away from minimalism but still deliver an uncomplicated palette for your romantic alchemy.

Bella and Lace X Curated By - Modern Day Wonder Woman

Because girls are superheros too. Like for real.

And it’s all the more fun when you can add some wings, feathers and a superhero crown. Just so people don’t forget who we really are. You know.. the fairy godmother; the make it happen lady; always with a smile on our face (sometimes with a martini in the hand); the first to wake up and last to go to bed; the make pancakes on a Friday night lady when all you want to do is watch some bad reality TV; the dance to Taylor Swift album type on demand anytime/anywhere with my babes (ok, Taylor is actually my hero right now so this is all me guys); the get to 3 different drop off points in the morning and successfully get a soy latte for oneself all by 8.30am (#BOOM).

I am surprised we are not an urban myth actually.

So this is to celebrate each of us. And how we really should be dressing every day to remind everyone just how awesome we are #evenwiththelackofsleepandnewwrinkles #desperatelyneedapeel #yikeshashtagsdontworkhere #oksoineedsleeptooigetit

P.S She actually wore this to the supermarket.

Best. Outfit. Ever.

Bella and Lace X Curated By - Dancing Queen

It is poetry when designers infuse new vision to breathe a fresh life into a classic and create an artisanal view of it for the next generation of the dancing queens.

The Tutu.

All girls want one. All girls have one. And my friends, this is the one. Full stop.

With the perfect blend of romantic hues, referencing a rock n roll spirit and a slither of folk aesthetic, this glittering, pretty as a painting frock is one for all lovers of Paris with a side serve of Los Angeles.

Robyn beats blasting your earphones is prerequisite for a full sensory experience.

And just like that a new dancing queen born.

Enjoy xx
